Windang Hotel Club Beats Its Long-time Open Hearth Rivals

THE Windang Hotel Fishing Club won the battle of the Primbee Peninsula against long-time rivals The Open Hearth Hotel Fishing Club.
Fishing between Bellambi Point and Bass Point, anglers from both clubs fronted the weigh master with some big catches of snapper, morwong, bream and blackfish.
For the Windang gang, Kim Thomas won the women's deep sea scamper and Warren Bush the men's BRE hit out.
Muhammad Hassmat flew a high flag for the Open Hearth mob, catching the best deep sea catch of the bash.
Meanwhile Kim Thomas and Dianne Divine were the two best women anglers at the Windang Hotel for the 2002-03 fishing season.
Thomas was the best woman deep sea angler, Divine the best beach, BRE woman angler.
The awards were made at the clubs' annual presentation evening held at the Windang Hotel.
Peter Crawford was the best male inshore angler for the season and Steve Acland the best male BRE angler.
Luke Wilkinson was the best inshore junior, Chris Deal best BRE junior and Kevin Brislane the champion freshwater angler all season.
Kevin Brislane, Peter Crawford and Jim Backhouse teamed to win the annual teams event.
Bulli Social Fishing Club conducted a monster raffle at its favourite water hole, the Bulli RSL Sports Club, to raise $760 which was donated to the Bellambi Volunteer Coast Guard.
Rolf Kilcker, of High Country Fly Fishing in Jindabyne, will be a special guest speaker at the Illawarra Fly Fishers Club's monthly meeting next Tuesday night at the Collegians Club in Wollongong starting at 7.30pm.
