Lotus spin-off

BRITISH sports car maker Lotus has spun an interesting new model off its Elise road car.

Called the "Circuit Car", the lightweight Lotus has been designed and engineered specifically for track days and club race meetings.

Lotus is offering two Toyota Celica-sourced powerplants, a 2.0-litre and a supercharged variant. The cars will go into limited production in December. Lotus expects to build 100 a year.
